ICHI, THE KILLER • A masochist hunting for the killer of his brutal Yakuza boss—basically so that someone will continue the pleasurable beatings once dealt him—finds hitman Ichi, who is surprisingly a crybaby only made lethal by his hypnotist-handler. Based on a comic book banned in parts of Japan, Ichi contains graphic violence and torture—press materials boast that barf bags were required at the Toronto Film Festival. With cleverly cast cult director Shinya Tsukamoto (Tetsuo the Ironman) as the handler. With Nao Omori, Tadanobu Asano. Directed by Miike Takashi.
