Return resurrects the traditional Malayo-Polynesian supernatural belief of Pontianak, the South East Asian undead equivalent of Dracula. To the world's delight, a group of teenagers uncover the legend of Pontianak, unleashing the popular legend on film for the first time in over thirty years. With a fresh approach and a creativity necessitated by a limited budget - shot on DV and transferred to 35mm - director Djinn's horrifying gem has wowed audiences at festivals world-wide. The reception at this yearŐs Cannes festival prompted Shaw Brothers and others to line up the filmmakers for multi-picture deals and television contracts. With Hiep Thi Le, Bernard Columbia, Fadali.
