Rex, an idyllic young boy, idolizes his father, a cop seemingly incapable of doing wrong. Yet reality comes raining down when Rex secretly witnesses his father, in a alcohol induced haze, shoot a neighborhood boy trying to free his kite from their rooftop. When his father attempts to cover up the killing, Rex is overwhelmed with moral dilemma. Sweeping the Manila Film Festival Awards and as PhilippineÕs entry for the OscarÕs Best Foreign Language Film, The Kite is an entertaining family film precipitating important discussion on serious issues.
